Somewhere the Finished Book Is the Point, Not the Feed
Scribble gives writers room to draft without a ceiling, a route to put the completed work in front of readers, and a community of people at the same stage of the same difficult process. Drafting, publishing, and conversation share one account on iOS.
Project: Scribble · Social networking for writers
Project Overview
Client: Scribble LLC
Sector: Social networking
Industry context: Independent writing & self-publishing
Product: Scribble, an iOS platform combining note-taking, a public book directory, & a writers’ community
Market: United States
Build focus: Native iOS, submission pipeline, rated public directory, messaging, subscription billing
Writers already have tools. What they do not have is one place where the writing, the publishing, and the people all sit together. Scribble was built around that gap, treating the finished book as the destination the whole product points at rather than an afterthought bolted onto a social feed.
Key Features
Drafting Without a Ceiling
Notes are unrestricted in length and in number, so a writer capturing something between other commitments never runs into a wall partway through. The gain is uninterrupted capture, which is when most usable material actually appears.
A Directory Readers Can Browse
A submitted title carries its cover, genre, summary, and outbound links into a public library where any user can read it, rate it, and leave a review. The gain is discovery inside the same product where the book was written.
A Room Full of People at the Same Stage
Posts, direct messaging, and a dedicated question channel connect writers to others working through the same problems. The gain is momentum, since isolation is what ends most manuscripts.
Inside the Product
Earn the Fiftieth Visit
Products that carry a whole working life, from first note to published work, need their structure decided early and correctly.
Scoping happens in days. Working software follows in months. A senior engineer owns the architecture from the first conversation through to release.
